Megan Fischer
CEO & Founder

In 2014, Megan was pregnant with her second child and learned diapers are not covered by food stamps or WIC. She read stories about babies being left in the same diaper for days, disposable diapers being reused, and the infections children get from a lack of clean diapers. As a parent, she couldn’t imagine what it would feel like to not be able to provide for the basic needs of your babies, and tried to find a diaper bank in Cincinnati to volunteer with. When nothing turned up, an idea took shape, and Megan envisioned an organization that could work with social service agencies in Cincinnati to make sure every baby in the city she loves had clean diapers. In the fall of 2015, Megan attended the Unpolished Conference for entrepreneurs at Crossroads Church in Oakley, and it proved to be the spark she needed to stop ignoring the call she felt to start a diaper bank. Just a few days after the conference, Megan had an amazing team in place ready to throw their support and talents into starting Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank, and she’s been working hard to create a thriving program for families in need ever since. In February of 2017, Megan made the move to Sweet Cheeks full time.

Rachel Moon
Director of Community Engagement

A museum nerd and NKY native, Rachel comes to Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank after working almost 10 years at the Cincinnati Art Museum, where she managed tours and wellness programming, led yoga in the galleries and taught workshops on art and meditation. She graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a Master’s in Public History and went on to teach museum studies courses at Wilmington College, focusing her classes on museums as agents of social change. Recently, she curated an exhibit about food & economic injustice at the Dayton International Peace Museum in Dayton, OH and is passionate about making a difference in communities through social justice and non-profit work. In 2018, she was awarded the “Educator of the Year” by the Ohio State University. When she’s not working, Rachel enjoys going to the movies, practicing yoga, and traveling the globe – she has been to over 15 countries on 6 continents.

Nick Reynolds
Director of Program and Operations

A Cincinnati native, Nick completed his BA at Loyola University Chicago, and served in Seattle with Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest, where he met his talented wife Sarah. Since then, he has gained experience managing nonprofit programs serving folks on the margins in the fields of mental health, developmental disabilities, and food access. He is ecstatic to be the dad of baby Emmett and Owen, which has made the need for diapers and other supplies in our community feel all the more urgent and personal. Nick enjoys spending time woodworking, gardening, brewing, being outdoors, traveling, and spending time at home with family and friends.

Sara Plaskett
Development Manager

Sara is a Cincinnati native, born and raised on the West Side. She lives with her husband and two boys only minutes from her childhood home. Sara studied at Ohio University where she earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree. In addition, she completed internships at Sesame Workshops and PBS Kids.  In 2015, Sara started working at Crayons to Computers and saw first-hand the life-long effect poverty can have on children. While there, she started her work in Development and found that she took to it very well. Sara is someone who loves a good spreadsheet and seeing how data translates into stories. Becoming a mom made Sara realize how expensive diapers can be and how hard that can be on a family, so she is thrilled to bring her skills to Sweet Cheeks to help families in need.

Margie Powell
Volunteer & Support Coordinator

Margie is a Cincinnati native with a passion for helping people thrive in the local community. Margie received her BA from University of Dayton and her MA from City University of London. Since then, Margie has worked for non-profits, television stations, and restaurants in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky community. Outside of her responsibilities at Sweet Cheeks, Margie can often be found exploring new cookbooks at her local library, engaging in yoga on her living room floor (often with her cat’s assistance), or charming her friends with humor—whether through a goofy face or a well-timed joke (with varying degrees of success).

Mike Schell is the Marketing Director at Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank.
